Hello and welcome to my website! My name is Ben. I’m a Research Scientist at SaferAI, where I lead their model evaluations work. Previously, I was a research engineer contracting with METR, focused on model evaluations for METR’s time horizon benchmark. Prior to that, I was a Project Manager at the UK AI Security Institute, led the Existential Security team at Rethink Priorities, and worked on nanotechnology strategy research (resources database here).

I’ve been a Senior Research Scholar at the Future of Humanity Institute and spent 5 years working in finance as a quantitative analyst, and I hold a PhD in DNA nanotechnology from Oxford University. I’ve signed the Giving What We Can pledge.
